Your in marketing so you meet new people all the time. How many times do you have to see someone at events before you remember who they are?
... and I answered

Great question - it depends on the amount of interaction, and the setting we met.

If someone does something to stand out, I will usually remember them - good or bad. Generally speaking though, if I’ve never met someone before, I’d say after meeting them 2-3 times I’ll remember them.

Quiddler: More Fun Than Scrabble

On our trip Heather and I brought only one game, a card game called quiddler.

Each player gets dealt cards with letters and points on them (think Scrabble tiles, but sometimes the cards have multiple letters), and each player draws and throws out in an attempt to spell the words with the most points.

You must play all your words at once, and still have one left to discard

There’s a bonus for the player with the longest word and the player with the most words spelled. (In a 2-player game, only one of these bonuses is used.)

It’s a fun game than anyone can play, and it costs about $10-$12 on Amazon.

Cheer Me Up

You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!

You: Hi

Stranger: im really bored cheer me up

You: Hmmm...

You: If you were an owl, I'd likely break off your beak with a pair of plyers and put it on my necklace.

You: So... You got that going for you.

Stranger: thank you for that bit of info

You: Sure! Glad I could help.

Your conversational partner has disconnected.

The Midnight Meat Train
Great title for a mediocre slasher flick

I’m a fan of horror movies, but The Midnight Meat Train took a while to get going.  When it finally did, the gore, though plentiful, wasn’t intentially campy, but still had that fake quality (especially the CGI eyeball).

Without giving away the ending, it made me sigh.  After being let down, I’m still not exactly sure what happened at the end, nor did I get any of my questions answered about Vinnie Jones’ character.

I give this movie a 2/5 stars.

2009 was a good year for gaming. What were your top five games of 2009?
... and I answered

2009 was a GREAT year for gaming! I hate making top 5 lists because I always forget a game or two, but here goes:

  • Blood Bowl (PC): It’s a niche title for sure, but they did a GREAT job w/ putting one of my favorite boardgames onto the PC, complete with leagues and leveling players.
  • Borderlands (Multi): The co-op and random loot took what was an interesting shooter and really put it into another category. I hope BL2 comes out, and that it has random dungeons.
  • Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II (PC): It’s scary that two Games Workshop IPs got into my top 5 games. The game is great, and with the recent free Last Stand content patch, it’s worth going back to.
  • Batman Arkham Asylum (Multi): Finally, Batman done right!
  • Uncharted 2 (PS3): The story kept me interested, and the voice-acting/cinematics were some of the best I’ve seen. [Full disclosure, Pm worked with Sony/Naughty Dog on Uncharted 2 PR/Marketing]

Whisper a Prayer for Me…

Maybe heading to the grand opening of a theme park based on one of the most popular IPs in the world wasn’t the best idea.

Reports of folks standing in line for 6-8 hours just to enter the park, and then an additional 1-2 hour wait to get on a ride.

As I stand in the hot Orlando sun - sweaty, sticky, frustrated, tired, and bored - think of where you are reading this, and smile knowing that you aren’t in the hot Orlando sun.

If you enjoy watching folks suffer, here’s a video of the line.
